Procedure
Removing the Vire 7Remove carburettor
- Gear linkages
- Propshaft coupling
unbolt it at the the flange three 13mm bolts
tie the shaft so it wont drop aft and cause a sinking disaster later
- remove pump inlet hose and cock/block off to prevent sinking (jubilee clip)
- remove Exhaust from cylinder & tie up above waterline/block up holes
4 13mm nust/studs will need high quality 3/8 drive 6 sided socket, and 4 inch extension bar, as they are often in poor/annealed condition
- remove electrical cables from external kill switch if fitted
- remove dynastart as complete unit, thus saving time on wiring.which you leave att.
(if you do remove it, paint/mark wires to ensure correct refitment)
- unscrew any wires you have into crankcase terminal block connector and mark them for re-fitment
- unbolt engine mounting bolts
- lift out engine and gearbox together
- use boom/topping lift/mainsheet if possible to transfer safely ashore
