Removing the Vire 7Remove carburettor

      2 10mm nuts

  • Gear linkages
    • custom

  • Propshaft coupling
    • unbolt it at the the flange three 13mm bolts

      tie the shaft so it wont drop aft and cause a sinking disaster later

  • remove pump inlet hose and cock/block off to prevent sinking (jubilee clip)
  • remove Exhaust from cylinder & tie up above waterline/block up holes
    • 4 13mm nust/studs will need high quality 3/8 drive 6 sided socket, and 4 inch extension bar, as they are often in poor/annealed condition

  • remove electrical cables from external kill switch if fitted
    • (earth from engine switched to black magneto casing wire)

  • remove dynastart as complete unit, thus saving time on wiring.which you leave att.
    • (if you do remove it, paint/mark wires to ensure correct refitment)

  • unscrew any wires you have into crankcase terminal block connector and mark them for re-fitment
  • unbolt engine mounting bolts
    • usually 4 17mm nylock nuts

  • lift out engine and gearbox together
  • use boom/topping lift/mainsheet if possible to transfer safely ashore
